Our Story

A Living Tradition in the Heart of Texas

SaLaRū Sri Lankan Cultural Academy was founded with one purpose — to preserve and share the extraordinary performing arts heritage of Sri Lanka with the Houston community and the next generation of students.

“Kandyan Dance carries the spiritual soul of Sri Lanka. Our mission is to bring that living tradition to every student — here in Texas.”

— Saliya Ilankoon, Director —

We follow a structured syllabus rooted in authentic Sri Lankan tradition. Every class is a bridge between an ancient art form and the modern world — welcoming children, adults, Sri Lankan families, and anyone who loves the beauty of this culture.
